Movement restrictions seem to be having an impact on crime figures, with zero burglaries recorded in a single day in Dublin for the first time ever.
According to the Irish Independent, there were no break-ins in any of the Capital's six Garda divisions last Friday.
The number of offences recorded in every crime category has seen a steady drop across the country since the outbreak began.
Restriction changes
The paper also reports that older people, who are cocooning, are expected to be allowed to exercise outdoors when the government begins easing restrictions next month.
Designated times for over 70s to use parks and other amenities is also said to be under consideration.
It's also expected that the ban on non-essential travel will be eased slightly to allow people go beyond 2 kilometres.
Clare GP, Dr Liam Glynn, says we have to be careful with the lifting of any restrictions;
"This is the first wave of Covid-19 and we probably have achieved something like 10 per cent immunity in the population with this particular wave."
But he warned; "as night follows day, if we release all restrictions tomorrow we will get another significant surge in Covid-19 infections."
