The heavily discounted price for cinema tickets for this day has been organised by the Irish Film Industry as a thank you to the loyal cinema audiences in Ireland.
According to UNIC (The International Union of Cinemas), Ireland recorded a remarkable 3.3 admissions per capita in 2019, a figure that stands as the highest in all of Europe. So we're a nation of cinema lovers!
