XFactor hopefuls who didn't make it past the bootcamp stages have been complaining about their treatment in the competition. They've said they were told to leave the building within minutes of being booted out after waiting around for hours on end. Their biggest complaint is the way they were simply told “no” with no other feedback. Within 5 minutes of coming off stage, producers made sure you were out of the building.
Dean from Irish boyband “Out of the Blue” who you'll see perform at bootcamp on this weekend's show has told 98FM it is tough going.
He said “It is tough. I think everyone sees the bit on the telly and think contestants are acting like little princesses throwing wobblers. It's actually really, really hard. You get there during the day and there's so much hanging around. It's a TV show after all so there's an awful lot of filming to be done. You don't get a chance to switch off. You have to get up at 7am and are rehearsing from 10.30pm at night til 5am in the morning. It's a test to see if you can stick it”.
The key really seems to be to just stick at it and work as hard as you can at bootcamp – Melanie McCabe from Whitehall is through to Judge's Houses this year, her 4th attempt on the show, and she told 98FM she remembers sharing a room with Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards back in 2011 – even Perrie had doubts about staying on but her girlband went on to win the show. She also would've never met her One Direction fiancé Zayn Malik had she not stuck at it.
Melanie told 98FM “Perrie was absolutely lovely – a really nice girl. We did share a room together in bootcamp and I remember he saying she didn't know about the competition – whether she'd make it. She was really uneasy about the whole thing and after the show, I was thinking, little did she know what was going to happen”.
