Tesco Ireland are looking for shoppers to get involved and support good causes in their community this Christmas.
This week Tesco have launched their annual Christmas Appeal in selected stores nationwide, where shoppers are encouraged to pop in store on Friday 1st or Saturday 2nd of December between 11am & 7pm and make a donation to support a cause in their community.
Over the two day appeal, a 'shopping list' of potential items to donate will be available for shoppers. This includes non-perishable foods, toiletries and toys, which are all paramount for local charities this festive season.
Customers are encouraged to pick up one item as they shop & donate it to the Christmas Appeal Trolley at the front of their local store.
Corporate Affairs Director of Tesco Ireland, Christine Heffernan tells of the importantance of the Christmas Appeal: "We are proud to say that we have collected over €400,000 worth of food for families since 2014 through this appeal alone"
"All of the items donated during the appeal in Tesco stores will be given to 125 partner causes from the Tesco surplus food donations programme which is run in partnership with FoodCloud", she continued.
The Tesco Christmas Appeal runs this Friday 1st & Saturday 2nd of December in selected Tesco stores.
