It may be mild out this week but temperatures are set to drop over the coming days due to what's being described as an "arctic blast".
According to forecasters, winter is set to take hold today with frost and wintry showers expected to fall over Leinster.
Met Eireann's Jean Byrne says it's going to get a lot colder in the second half of the week.
"It will be very mild, warmer than normal, over the next couple of days but things will get progressively colder from Wednesday onwards, turning very cold, windy and showery."

Wednesday
Rain will clear to give a mostly dry day with sunny spells. Top afternoon temperatures just 6 to 10 degrees and feeling chilly in moderate to fresh west to southwesterly breezes.
There will be widespread showers tomorrow night, some heavy with hail and thunder in the north. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 6 degrees, with frost possible in sheltered areas.
Thursday
Cold with sunny spells and widespread showers, some heavy and thundery with hail, and turning wintry on higher ground in the north and west. Top temperatures just 4 to 8 degrees and feeling chilly in stiff westerly winds.
There will be clear spells on Thursday night with lowest temperatures of -1 to +2 degrees with a ground frost forming in sheltered areas.
Friday
Mainly dry and cloudy with some bright or sunny spells. There will be highs of 3 to 7 degrees during the day.
Weekend
Saturday and Sunday is set to be unsettled and cold with rain at times.
