A gorgeous marriage proposal took place in Arnotts this week.
Barry Clarke went to the Henry Street department store yesterday with his girlfriend Suzanne and their 2 year-old son Cameron to see Santa.
Unbeknown to Suzanne, Santa actually had a special surprise for her. He helped Barry pop the question to his girlfriend of 10 years in the grotto.
Speaking to 98FM, Barry said:
"Suzanne is my Fiance and Cameron is our 2 year old son. We have been together 10 years.
I just decided to propose yesterday and wanted to get the big man in the red suit to witness it. I also wanted our son to be part of the proposal (so we can show him in future). I know Santa is very busy at this time of year but I got a direct line and asked for his help! He obliged, and a plan was hatched!
I just walked into Arnotts and told them what I was planning. The staff were all excited. Thanks to Claire and all the staff at Arnotts for be so helpful, and to Santa for keeping it a secret. Suzanne didn't have a clue, And I wouldn't be the traditional type of guy!"
