THE COUNTDOWN IS ON… ONE WEEK or 168 HOURS TO GO!!

With picnickers due to arrive at a SOLD OUT Electric Picnic in just one week, organisers issue festival advice:

Packing:
Be prepared for all weather, it's not unusual to see four seasons in one day, after all it is Ireland!

Essential items to pack - sunscreen, wellies, waterproof jacket, warm fleece for night time and baby wipes.

Pack the bare essentials including a sleeping bag and tent (including all parts)!!

Please remember that no glass is permitted on site!

Tickets:
The Picnic is SOLD OUT so if you don't have a ticket please do not turn up as no more tickets will go on sale.

Earlier this month organisers advised against buying tickets from websites or unknown sources.

If you buy tickets from an unauthorized dealer, website or classified ad you run a high risk of losing your money and not getting in to the festival.

We have already had reports of fake tickets being sold.

Why give money to a total stranger in the hope they might not rip you off?

The only official re-sale for site for EP is www.getmein.com.

Anywhere else cannot guarantee your money is safe or your ticket genuine.

Travel:
Organise your travel in advance.

Use public transport where possible and make sure you book your return transport in advance.

Car pool where possible to help reduce road congestion and carbon emissions.

Gates open at 9am on Friday 29th of September.

Check out Get-There.ie for a one-stop website for car pooling and bus and train timetables.

Garda Advice:
Gardaí advise to turn off sat-navs and follow the clearly sign posted routes from AA roadwatch to avoid unnecessary delay and traffic disruption.

Key junctions and points will be manned by Gardaí.

Designated privately operated car parking is provided adjacent to the event site on all approved routes.

This parking is free to all ticket holders and no roadside parking will be permitted.

Inspector Declan Dunne of Portlaoise Garda Station added "Make sure to pack appropriate clothing and to mark all personal property with your contact details.

Follow the routes from AA Roadwatch and most importantly enjoy yourself over what is always a great weekend and look out for each other!"
