If you've been searching for a night out with a difference in Dublin, this may just be what you're looking for.

Magistorium is a new theatre space just off Grafton Street, which is named (according to the dictionary) after "a room in ancient times, devoted to the arts. Where a convivial gathering or drinking and dining party takes place."

The idea is that you can enjoy dinner and a show, or just the show if you're not feeling hungry. Magistorium is hidden behind a small blue door on South Anne Street, which used to be home to McGonagles and The Crystal Ballroom.

Those behind it promise Magistorium "will host eclectic performances and cultural events whilst offering guests the option to feast and drink as they’re being entertained."

There are three special nights a week:

Thursdays: Ceol A weekly event featuring the best of Irish traditional musicians and singers.

Saturdays: Café Society A new late night entertainment and dining experience set back in 1922’s New York.

Sunday afternoons: Jazz Roast A fusion of brunch and roast menus served up to the sounds of funky jazz, contemporary and big band sounds.

You can find out more about the shows, dinner and tickets here.
