Just when we were beginning to lose faith in the Making A Murderer case ever being reopened, it looks like there's about to be another turn in this captivating tale.
On Wednesday night, a new lawyer for convicted Murder Steven Avery requested a new trail, after claiming that Avery's conviction was based on planted evidence and false testimony.
In the request submitted to the court during the week, the lawyer claims the ex-boyfriend of the murder victim actually killed Teresa Halbach.
According to Parez Hilton, the motion stated "Because the State did not need to establish motive, it did not spend any time trying to figure out why Ms. Halbach was murdered. Both Mr. Avery and Ms. Halbach are victims of a justice system whose success depends upon the integrity, competence and devotion of judges, law enforcement, prosecutors, and defense attorneys. Both Ms. Halbach and Mr. Avery have yet to receive justice."
It comes as Netflix confirmed before Christmas that a second season of the famous documentary was in the works, however a premiere date has yet to be confirmed.
