A weather warning has been issued for two provinces. Met Eireann says a status yellow alert for Leinster and Munster will be in place 9 o'clock tonight.

The forecaster says:

"Heavy rain expected to move up from the south overnight, clearing later Wednesday.
30 to 40mm are expected, but larger totals are possible on high ground."

Meanwhile, temperatures are set to plummet this week, with snow and ice on the way due to what Met Eireann is describing as a "polar low". Read more on that story here
