Jeff Goldblum will be back for the Independence Day sequel. Director Roland Emmerich has confirmed the news on Facebook and also announced the Hunger Games actor Liam Hemsworth has joined the cast.
He wrote: '"First you strategically position your pieces, and when the time is right, you strike.” Excited to officially announce Liam Hemsworth and Jeff Goldblum as the next two pieces of the Independence Day sequel!'
Goldblum previously revealed that he had been approached to reprise his role as computer expert David Levinson. The first movie was released in 1996. As of yet, it's still unknown if Will Smith will return.
