Leo Varadkar is probably one of the last people you'd expect to meet while on your J1, but one Irish woman had an interesting encounter with Ireland's Taoiseach this week.
Emma Kelly, who is currently living and working in Chicago as part of the student visa programme, took to Twitter to regale the story which left her a little red-faced.
Emma revealed that she didn't recognise the former Minister for Health while she was serving him in a restaurant. She revealed she even asked Leo if he was Irish, before seating him at a tiny table.
Once Emma realised her mistake, she shared a "painfully awkward" photo that she took with him.
Varadkar has since thanked Emma on Twitter for the 'gr8' food and service.
