We’re 3 weeks into the challenge and the team attended their first challenge this week with Jon in the GreenHouse Project. The challenge this week was based on rowing & called ‘One Mile More’.

Brian Maher from 98FM’s The Fix was up first. The aim was to set a base distance and then attempt to beat that distance by one mile each after each interval.

The GreenHouse Project are running free introductionary classes for rowing the next three Saturdays – 22nd April, 29th April and 6th May. Classes start at 9.30am and to book your seat you’ll need to email info@thegreenhouseproject.ie.

Rowing is a full body workout which improves endurance, power and burns a great amount of calories. It’s suitable for all ages, levels of fitness and ability due to its low impact nature and is easily adjustable to make the session suit your own fitness level.

Starting out your rowing journey with GreenHouse Project couldn’t be any simpler! Every class starts with basic rowing fundamentals including technique, breathing and a gradual warm up so you are ready for the main session.

The format of our classes is a variety of interval based training meaning a period of higher intensity work followed by a period of active recovery. This method has been proven to burn more calories when compared with lower intensity for longer duration. So this means you get more benefit in less time.

In addition, we hold Fusion classes which incorporate the TRX Suspension Trainer alongside Rowing so you get a variety of endurance and power on the Rower and full body resistance exercises on the TRX using your own bodyweight as resistance.

If you’re interested in getting started on your own mind & body challenge then you can check out these events running in The GreenHouse Project here.
