This year GAZE, Dublin's LGBT Film Festival, celebrates it's silver anniversary. 25 years is a great run for any festival but it's even more impressive when we consider the cultural context GAZE thrived through. Michael Connell, Chairperson of GAZE, reflects on how LGBT issues have progressed since the first festival in 1992 saying "GAZE has spanned decriminalisation in 1993 all the way to full constitutional marriage in 2015."

He hopes the films screened this year will help LGBTQI+ people for whom the world remains a "volatile and often unwelcoming place."

The festival will showcase Irish and international films. As well as the packed schedule in the Lighthouse GAZE will include discussions, walking tours of Dublin and after paties.

The festival starts this Thursday and spans the Bank holiday. You can get more information and tickets here.
