The big weekend is finally here - Forbidden Fruit takes place at Royal Hospital Kilmainham from Saturday June 2nd until Monday June 4th.

A host of international and homegrown artists will perform across 6 stages this June Bank Holiday. 

If you're heading along, we've got all the important info you need to know including stage times, travel information and the weather forecast. 

Opening Times

  • Saturday - 2:00pm
  • Sunday - 2:00pm
  • Monday - 3:00pm
  • Last Entry to the festival 21:30

Getting There

There's free Bulmers Buses departing from the end of Harcourt Street daily. Starting at 2pm on Saturday, Sunday and Monday and returning into town from 9pm and dropping off near the Forbidden Fruit Night Venues.

By Foot: 

Pedestrian access is via East Gate, Military Road and West Gate, James St.

By Car:

There is no parking at the venue. Traffic Restrictions will be in place on Military Road and Kilmainham Lane. The nearest public car park is Park Rite Parking Lot at 7 Queen Street, Dublin 7. 

By Bus: 

Route No 13, No 40, No 123 (every 10-15 min on Friday and Saturday, 20-30 min on Sunday)

From Upper O'Connell Street / College Green

take bus 13 towards Grange Castle
take bus 40 towards Liffey Valley
take bus 123 towards Walkinstown
get out on Saint James' Hospital bus stop

Route No 79 / 79A (aproxx every 15-20 min Friday, Saturday and Sunday)
form city centre Aston Quay, Temple Bar take bus 79 towards Spiddal Pk or 79A towards Parkwest get out on Saint John's Road West stop

Route No 25A / 25B (every 10 min on Friday, 20 min on Saturday, 30 min on Sunday)
form city centre Wellington Quay, Temple Bar take bus 25A towards Lucan S.C. or 25B towards Adamstown
get out Outside Heuston Train Station

From Palmerston towards Kilmainham take routes 25/A/B or 66/A/B or 67.

By Train:

  • From Celsbridge go to Heuston Station; 5 minute walk from Heuston Station.
  • From Maynoth go to Connolly Station
  • From Greystone go to Connolly Station.
  • From Balbriggan go to Connolly Station.
  • From Connolly take LUAS Red Line towards Saggart to Heuston Station.

By LUAS:

Take Red Line from The Point towards Saggart, exit to Heuston Station and it is 5 minute walk to East Gate entrance via Military Road.

Mobility Impaired Access:

Vehicles with a mobility impaired badge will be permitted to approach the concerts from James Street and Bow Lane where they will be directed via Military Road to the East Gate and from there to the Mobility Impaired Car Park. A mobility impaired parking sticker in a visible position is necessary.

Tickets

There are limited day and weekend tickets still available but organisers say they are selling fast. 

Ticketmaster Box Office Opening

This box office will open 2 Hours before gates and will close at 9.30pm. Guestlist and accreditation closes at 9pm sharp daily. 

Bags

No large bags will be permitted to the concert site. Bags A4 size & smaller will be subject to security checks on entry. Those with no bags will be fast tracked into the arena.

Weather Forecast:

Make sure you pack a rain jacket. According to Met Eireann, Saturday will be less humid, but still warm with hazy sunshine. There'll be some showers - some heavy and thundery. Top temperatures of 17-20 degrees. 

Sunday will be arm and humid with sunny spells. Mainly dry there'll be a few showers later in the day. Highs of 19-23 degrees. Sunday night will be dry. 

The warm and humid weather is set to continue on Monday and early next week with sunny spells and a few heavy scattered showers in the afternoon and evening.
