The day has finally come. Ed Sheeran is back on social media after a year-long hiatus.
The singer has updated his Twitter and Instagram accounts for the first time in 12 months with a single cryptic post: a blue image.

Back in December 2015, Ed announced a break from social media, promising to return in Autumn 2016 with new music.
This day last year, Sheeran posted:
'To my family and friends, if you love me you will understand me buggering off for a bit, to my fans, the 3rd album is on its way and is the best thing I have made thus far. See you all next autumn, and thank you for being amazing.'
It's reported that Ed is set to release his new album any day now. He has also been linked to Glastonbury 2017.
Meanwhile, it was recently reported that Sheeran has penned a song about his Irish granny for his new album.
The singer has been back in studio working on the follow up to 2014's 'X', and his Nan Anne - who is from Wexford, is apparently the inspiration behind one of the tracks.
Last month, The Irish Daily Star reported that Ed is planning to release his new album in January.
A source told the paper: "There are 17 songs on the album, but Ed is trying to whittle that down. He has a song about his Irish grandmother on it."
"The new album is in the final mix. He had hoped it would be released by Christmas, but it looks like it won't be out until January."
Ed reportedly stayed with his Granny in Wexford ahead of his sold out concert at Croke Park last July.
