There's reports Ed Sheeran is set to headline Glastonbury 2017. According to The Sun, Sheeran will play Worthy Farm alongside confirmed headliners Radiohead and Foo Fighters.

Festival bosses Michael Eavis and daughter Emily are said to be 'delighted' to have Ed on board.

An insider told the paper:

“Michael is delighted to get Ed signed up.

“It’s going to be a huge moment for the festival having him up there marking his comeback in front of a giant crowd.

“Ed’s always said headlining Glastonbury has been a big ambition of his.

“Topping his three sold-out Wembley Stadium shows last year will be tough, but this is as big as it gets.”

Fingers crossed Ed announces an Irish date next year - Electric Picnic or Croke Park, anyone?

It looks like new music from Ed is definitely on the way.

Earlier this week, he made his return to social media after a year-long hiatus.

The singer updated his Twitter and Instagram accounts for the first time in 12 months with a single cryptic post: a blue image.

Back in December 2015, Ed announced a break from social media, posting:

'To my family and friends, if you love me you will understand me buggering off for a bit, to my fans, the 3rd album is on its way and is the best thing I have made thus far. See you all next autumn, and thank you for being amazing.'
