Channel 4 are reportedly planning a comedy series about the Irish Famine and people are not happy about it.
A petition with over 30,000 supporters was set up by Fairlie Gordon stating that 'Famine or genocide is no laughing matter, approximately 1 million Irish people died, and another 2 million were forced to emigrate ,because they were starving, any programme on this issue would have to be of serious historical context not repeat not a comedy'.
The petition on Change.org hopes to stop the comedy series from development.
