Guns N' Roses make their highly anticipated return to Slane Castle this weekend. The sold out concert, which is part of the band's Not In This Lifetime Tour, marks 25 years since they last played the legendary venue.
Ahead of Saturday's event, MCD has released some important information:
Getting There
- People are strongly advised to allow sufficient time to get to the venue due to increased security measures
- Address: Slanecastle Demesne, Slane, Co. Meath
Dublin Bus
- Dublin Buses depart between 12:00 – 16:00 every 30 mins, from Parnell Square West outside the Rotunda Dublin, and will return straight after the concert.
Marathon Coach
From Dublin to Slane: Departure from Custom House Quay. Pick Up every half hour from 11.00 until 17.00. Return from Slane directly after concert from Dublin Transport Hub (closest bus stop to Slane Castle concert) to Custom House Quay.
Taxis
See map below for dedicated Taxi & drop off and pick up locations. There will be road closures in place so punters will have to return to their pick up location by 9.30pm.
Car Parking
People are advised to use the special transportation arrangement. Where possible, use public transport or carpool. Make you yous check out the concert map and take note of the colour coded routes.
Driving to the event
Allow plenty of time if you are driving as traffic and parking delays are inevitable. Plan your route in advance, and check in with AA Road watch for traffic-related reporting. There will be a car parking charge.
VIP & Accessible customers
VIP & Accessible customers must approach from Navan via N51 to access designated VIP & Accessible car parking. You will only be permitted access to VIP & Accessible car park with
 correct car pass. If you haven't received yours yet, email access@mcd.ie to apply for your relevant car pass.
Security
- An Garda Síochána will have over 400 members on duty, including specialist units, who will be supported by an additional 1,200 Security/Stewards provided by licensed security companies together with a full complement of doctors and medical teams, including an on-site hospital along with five first aid posts.
Support Acts
- Royal Blood, Mark Lanegan & Otherkin have been added to the bill as special guests.
Times
Gates open at 2pm. The show starts at 3pm.
