Dublin's Lord Mayor is warning the reputation of Dublin is on the line following a number of anti-refugee demonstrations in the city.
City councillors have passed a cross party motion to get the local authority to develop a strategy to promote integration and tackle racism.
They're looking for more funding to encourage inclusion in communities.
Speaking at last night's monthly Council meeting, Dublin Lord Mayor Caroline Conroy says some of the protests have gotten out of hand.
''Some of these events have been particularly ugly and in some cases racist abuse has been directed at refugees leading to them fearing for their own safety,'' she said.
''We know that most people in communities don't support these protests. Our reputation as a welcoming and inclusive city is on the line.''
