Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hit back at Robin van Persie ahead of this evening's FA Cup third-round tie with Wolves.

Van Persie criticised Solskjaer for smiling in an interview after Wednesday's 2-0 Premier League defeat at Arsenal which leaves United five points adrift of the top-four:

“I would like to see him a bit more mean at times, just be angry," the former United striker said of the current Red Devils boss on BT Sport after the match at the Emirates.

Van Persie added that Solskjaer “seems like a really nice guy” but that the Norwegian needed to be more “mean at times” and “more angry” and added: “You need to have fear as well for your coach.”

Solskjaer hit back at his press conference ahead of their trip to Molineux:

“I don’t know Robin and Robin doesn’t know me,” a defiant Solskjaer told the media. “He probably doesn’t have a right to criticise my management style and I won’t change. That’s definite.

Yeah Robin, he took my No.20 and that’s probably all he’s going to take from me as well.”
