Up to 300 job losses are expected at TikTok's Dublin office.
Government sources confirmed they have been informed of the "collective redundancy notification" from the Chinese company.
TikTok currently employs around 3,000 people at its Irish operation.
Last month, the video sharing platform announced a restructuring plan that would impact its workers worldwide.
Labour's Enterprise spokesperson George Lawlor says it's part of a worrying trend among tech firms based here.
"We've seen it in Google, Meta, Amazon, Intel and Microsoft and today we add TikTok to the list.
There appears a clear degree of uncertainty and some chaos in Ireland in the sector and it's causing immense uncertainty for the thousands of people who rely on this industry for a living."
