The ISPCA work tirelessly to save animals all over this country. It is often heart breaking and thankless work but inspectors, vets, admin staff and volunteers do it because they want to speak up for animals who can't speak up for themselves.

Every year, thousands of acts of unbelievably cruelty are enacted upon helpless animals who, really, are looking for love, comfort and a happy life, like us all. There are those in this world for whom who an animal is no more than a cushion - something to be punched and kicked. A dog could be less than an ashtray, a cat kindling for a fire. Writing these words is making me so angry as I have also gone down the rabbit hole of looking at pictures and reading cases on the internet of what's been done in suburbs all around our county to animals. It's sickening.

Here's where we get back to the ISPCA. Animal rescue on TV3 looks and the important work that these amazing people do.

This morning we spoke to Karen Lyons, an ISPCA inspector about what we'll see on the show this series.

Animal Rescue is on TV3 tonight at 8.30pm. Tissues people, have tissues and your bank card to donate to the ISPCA with you when watching this show.

Join Ray, JP and Muireann every weekday morning on The Ray Foley Show from 6-10am only on 98FM.
