On Dublin Talks this morning we spoke to Anne Sexton, who is a sex columnist for Hot Press. We had a discussion about women who sleep around and spoke to Anne who said "if a woman is happy to sleep around then we should admire her. There is nothing wrong with enjoying sex."
Anne angered many of listeners. One particular listener texted in to the show saying "Anne is encouraging women to be sluts, it's unacceptable". We also heard from a caller who said "women who sleep around obviously never had any parental guidance". Another man called in to say "these women are sluts, simple as".
We carried out a text survey during the discussion and asked our listeners' how they feel about women who hook up with different men every weekend. The majority of people said "it's her body, her choice" but many still said "she is easy" and even used more derogatory words. Things got very heated on air.
