The Other Guys - RTE2, 9pm

Whilst Will Ferrell the man seems sounder than Jesus giving out free ice-creams on a sunny day, sometimes his movies can be a bit hit and miss. Blades of Glory, anyone? In this movie playing straight cop Gamble to Mark Wahlberg's frenetic Hoitz, he's gas craic. The two lads are pencil pushing cops but Hoitz wants to be like the superstars of the precinct, Highsmith and Danson, played by the high fiving Samuel L.Jackson & The Rock. When they get their chance, Gamble and Hoitz are immediately in over their heads. Oscar worthy performance from brother of Angela's Ashes writer Frank McCourt, Malachy as 'Old Man at Irish Bar.'

The Tribe - Channel 4, 9pm

I don't know about you but if I switch on the TV and 'One Born Every Minute' or 'Educating Yorkshire' is on, I'm watching. It is television that is engrossing, heartbreaking, life affirming and voyeuristic all at once. One Born is also bloody terrifying and, I believe, is watched by every childless woman with her legs crossed and makes men not want to touch their wives or girlfriends for weeks. So, doing its bit for overpopulation. The Tribe is another show of this type except it is set 6,500 miles away in Ethiopia with the Muko family of the Hamar tribe. Tonight, we see someone initiated in to manhood by jumping over a bunch of cows, naked. More imaginative than passing your driving test. Also, we see young widow, Rebo, pissed off at the patriarchy.

Mock The Week - BBC2, 10pm

Tonight, the lads are joined by James Acaster, Ed Byrne, Gary Delaney and Sara Pascoe to take slag the news. 14 series and still funny.
