The Battle for Gorse Hill - TV3, 9pm

It was a scandal that most of us couldn't handle or really understand earlier this year when solicitor Brian O'Donnell and his doctor wife Mary Pat came to wide spread attention. Why would they alliterate their children's names in the style of Kris Jenner and her offspring? There was Blaise, Bruce and Blake. Daughter Alexandra escaped the curse. Why would you do that Brian? What is it about the 'B' sound? The country needed answers; Oh, and they owe over €70 million to Bank of Ireland and wouldn't leave their million euro home in Killiney a few months ago even though there was a repossession order in place. This documentary follows the legal case that had the country tutting and speaks to the players involved.... we need the answers to the names though. Someone ask Brian about his children's names.

Pat Kenny In The Round - UTV Ireland, 9pm.

Chris Hadfield is a Canadian legend astronaut who put Ireland on the flippin' stratospheric map due to his tweeting as Gaelige and putting up pictures of Ireland and Dublin at night all because his daughter was in Trinity when he was up hanging around the international space station. He is a man who got people interested in space again with his innovative use of social media and engagement with the public. Tonight he chats to Pat in the mansion house. Expect to fall in love.

Ireland and the Eurovision - The Good, The Bad and the Mad - RTE ONE, 9.35pm

Sorry lads but you won't be able to escape the Eurovision this week as the semi's are on with the final on Saturday night. There is a certain ennui surrounding TV talent shows these days - cancellation of American Idol; winner of The Voice UK selling about 2 records - but the Eurovision is something else; we all know that it's a farce - Australia are in it this year for god's sake - but you still get angry when all the Eastern European countries start block voting, you write out your predictions and score as you watch and you lament the days of Johnny Logan. Standard and compulsory. Tonight, the eminently watchable and charismatic Angela Scanlon goes back stage at the contest and reminds us of Ireland's highlights during our 50 years in the competition.

What to set your recorder for: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver - Sky Atlantic, 11.10pm

This show has been a delight in the two seasons it has been on air. Oliver has gone after everything from the Miss American pageant to Scotland leaving the UK, The Armenian genocide to 50 Shades of Grey all with the type of satire and humour that makes you want to be a better person. Tonight he takes on the chicken industry in America, which needs 169 million chicks a week to feed the beast. Holy crap. GET ON THIS SHOW.

Before turning on your TV, you can listen to me.
