Guitar Star - Sky 1, 8pm

Edith Bowman was on The Ray Foley Show yesterday morning talking about this very show. You can hear it here. I love Edith Bowman. I miss Edith Bowman. I want to go for a pint with Edith Bowman and I think that she and she alone is the only hope for this show. Its' premise is to find the next great guitarist. So, a reality talent show with artsy overtures.

Guitar experts Nitin Sawhney, Helen Sanderson and Huey Morgan are involved in the audition rounds. Is Huey Morgan a guitar expert? I can just about play Rare Aul Times & Caledonia so I'd better shut up. Later on in the series there are mentors involved including Rodrigo y Gabriela so that's pretty cool. Imagine trying to play like Rodrigo y Gabriela in front of Rodrigo y Gabriela..... harsh enough. I want this to work, I really do but personally, I am full to capacity with watching people being coerced into fake situations on TV so we can be manipulated in to feeling feelings while sitting on the couch. But..... go Edith!

Grey's Anatomy - RTE2, 9pm

Do you know how I feel about this show? This:

I just CAN'T QUIT THE FECKIN' THING! When I started watching this, I was a virgin and I'm pretty sure it will still be going when I am no longer able to physically have sex. There has been a lot of upheaval in the show this year. Most specifically, we will never see new scenes like this again after McDreamy *SPOILER ALERT* met his end.

That hasn't slowed the melodrama. Tonight a plane crash brings back some disturbing memories for the crew of Grey-Sloane Memorial Hospital. They have some horrid luck in fictional Seattle. They should revert to transport via donkey and cart but you just know there would be some pandemic that would turn the donkey's into zombies and everyone would end up in the hospital anyway. Oh, programme idea.

Set Your Recorder for: The Good Wife - RTE1, 11.15pm

I realise that many of you whom have watched 'Leap Year' - many might be an overstatement - the dozen or so of us who sat through that movie, may have a problem with Matthew Goode because of his woeful, uafasach, atrocious, crime against humanity of an Irish accent but I actually rather liked him in it. TERRIBLE movie but he was good and his casting as Deputy States Attorney Finn Polmar in The Good Wife has been genius. He's understated yet slightly mysterious, professionally pure while morally... well we all know what he's like to do with Alicia and his voice is sublime. Tonight he uncovers something while investigating Cary that could potentially affect both Peter and Alicia.

Get out in the sun and turn the radio up to 11.
