Snow White and The Huntsman - Film 4, 9pm
A film, as my first pick, of a Tuesday? Controversial. With the prequel to this on the way - ok, it's next year so not imminent, but why not have a refresher course on the original. This is a modern day re-telling of the old fairytale set in medieval times in an alternate universe. So far, so convoluted. But it's really not.
Kristen Stewart plays Snow White with Chris Hemsworth as her love interest, the Huntsman. The chemistry between them is an non-existent as my chances were of getting an A in chemistry in the leaving. As a country that has its accent misused more than Samantha Jones' neck massager, you will fully commiserate with the Scots and what Chris Hemsworth has done to theirs but for all of that, he is very engaging in the role. Then there is Charlize. Wonderful Charlize as the evil queen. Superb, fantastic, chilling, emotive, brilliant... and a million other adjectives. She's bloody great in this. The action and CGI also stands up with the best of them.
Dara O'Briain Meets Stephen Hawking - BBC1, 11.05pm
Dara O'Briain, as important an export as Kerrygold and Guinness. You'll probably have watched him talking about this on Graham Norton last Friday when Graham described him as 'the second funniest man in Ireland.' (YIPPEEEEEEEEE, Graham still feels totally Irish. He's still ours. OURS YOU HEAR, BRITAIN!)
Dara, a theoretical physicist himself who has concentrated on bring science and maths to the masses over the last few years, meets the most famous theoretical physicist in the world, ever - yes, Pythagoras, Einstein, Issac Newton and Peter Higgs are famous but how many have done a sketch with David Walliams & Catherine Tate, had themselves turned in to a hologram on Star Trek: The Next Generation, a cartoon on The Simpsons and been referenced in everything from Father Ted to Seinfeld, The Vicar of Dibley to Knocked Up? Yeah, not many.
Over 6 months, Dara met Hawking and talked about everything from how he comes up with things to his children, seeing himself on the big screen to loneliness.
Set the Recorder for: Secrets of The Living Dolls - Channel 4, 11.35pm
This was first aired in January but if you missed it then, you should definitely watch it now. Actually, a second, third, 20th viewing is almost compulsory. This documentary delves into the extremely secretive world of female masking - where men turn themselves into dolls by squeezing in to full body plastic suits. And you thought your obsession with eating chips & ice-cream together was strange. No judgement, but there's no denying that this is weird. When watching it though, you find yourself trying to understand the urge that these men have to hide themselves from the world in the most noticeable way. Utterly compelling.
