Shutter Island - RTE1, 9.35pm
I have always wondered if Leonardo DiCaprio notices when one supermodel girlfriend in his life is changed for another. Stay with me; I know he's not oblivious and I'm sure there is a deep philosophical connection but, is it like the end of a night and you grab the first leather jacket you see cause it looks like yours and you just can't be arsed checking properly? He's definitely a man that could get away with just taking any tall, genetically perfect goddess, home without the guards being called. I wonder if the same happened with his movies in 2010.
This was the year he starred in both Inception and his 4th of 5 collaborations with Martin Scorsese, Shutter Island. Both films are absolute head-wreaks. Do you think he thought he was just filming the same movie? It was inevitable that one of these would resonate with audiences more and Inception won out. That, however, doesn't mean that Shutter Island isn't worth it. Set in 1954, it tells the story of U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels, who is investigating a psychiatric facility on Shutter Island and the disappearance of one of their patients but all is not as it seems.
Hannibal - Sky Living, 10pm
Look at the picture from tonight's episode. Just LOOK AT IT. Brilliant. Will slowly wakes from his coma and blood filled nightmares to discover Lecter has escaped to Northern Italy. He's not a very happy camper. There is an 8 month time lapse in this episode for Will's recuperation. Thanks be to god. I don't think I could handle an Hannibal/ Grey's Anatomy crossover where Will would replace McDreamy as the man in Meredith's life.
The People's Debate with Vincent Browne - TV3, 10pm
Vincent Browne. A studio audience. Walking. Talking. Remembering to go to breaks whilst in full indignant swing. This is TV gold. Also you get to shout at the TV. Tonight's debate takes place in Athenry so not so much about Dublin but sure, we're all friends.
Set The Recorder for: This World: The Bin Laden Conspiracy - BBC2, 11.20pm
This has become one of the most famous photos of modern times - and not just because ultra-Orthodox Jewish newspaper Der Zitung photo-shopped Hillary out of it, state of them. This shows the moment that the Obama National Security Team watched the raid that killed Osama Bin Laden in the White House Situation Room. That moment has become the latest in a long line of conspiracy theories that fascinate the world. Jane Corbin has been investigating al-Qaeda & Bin Laden for two decades and tonight looks at the latest claims that there was collusion at the highest levels of US and Pakistani intelligence to assassinate him. This is going to head wreak and fascinate.
