Brian Gartland wants the Dundalk fans and the wider League of Ireland public to create another “special” European atmosphere in Tallaght Stadium tonight.
The SSE Airtricity League and FAI Cup Champions welcome Maccabi Tel Aviv to Dublin on Thursday evening in their second UEFA Europa League group match.
Having had their most famous ever night in Tallaght when they beat BATE Borisov in August, they return again, this time to face one of Israel’s top teams which littered with internationals.
Stephen Kenny’s team grabbed a late equaliser in their opening game away to AZ Alkmaar through Ciaran Kilduff’s header and Gartland thinks the confidence taken from that result will help them in this game.
The Lilywhites plan to play their customary fast, attacking, passing football with attacking set pieces also in their plan of attack.
Gartland, who is an AVIVA Fai Junior Cup ambassador, spoke exclusively to 98FM’s Jamie Moore earlier this week, while former Ireland international Kevin Kilbane also gave his thoughts on the game.

Kick off in Tallaght is at 8.05pm, 98FM’s Darren Cleary will be there with live updates.
