The All Ireland Champions are "the team to beat"
That's the opinion on four time winner Philly McMahon.
The Dublin defender told 98FM Sport that they are fully aware of the "target of their backs" heading into the 2017 season, as Jim Gavin's boys in blue look to make it three All Ireland title wins in a row.
According to the Ballymun Kickhams man, thoughts of retaining their crown are not at the front of their minds just yet though.
McMahon and the rest of the All Ireland winning team and management staff have just returned from a post season holiday in Jamaica ahead of the start of the league campaign in three weeks time.
The Dubs are set for an O'Byrne Cup semi-final against Kildare this weekend, but Jim Gavin and his mainstream players will not be involved in that game.
McMahon does admit though that every other team will be out to get them in 2017.
Dublin footballer Philly McMahon was speaking to 98FM's Jamie Moore (above) at the GAA's Healthy Clubs launch at Craobh Chiarain GAA club. The project is aiming to transform Ireland's GAA clubs into ground-breaking healthy hubs. For more information visit www.gaa.ie/community
He told Jamie a little more about the Healthy Clubs Project, and how as a qualified Strength & Conditioning coach himself, he feels keeping kids healthy, active and the correct weight is crucial to their development.
We'll have a full interview with Philly on Now That's What I Call Sport, this Sunday morning (Jan 22nd) at 9am.
