Sports psychotherapist and mental skills coach Jason Brennan believes mental skills stand out as an "undervalued aspect of sporting performance”
Brennan has worked in the area of Sport Psychotherapy for over 15 years, working primarily out of Wellington, New Zealand where he has provided his services for a number of high-profile athletes including several members of the All-Blacks.
According to the coach, athletes who develop their mental skills gain an advantage as they “harness their mind in their body to perform better, or to their best. Mental skills can help activate, and be game ready before going out on the pitch.”
“One of the best things an athlete or player can do is plan for the pressure. Visualize, don’t just wait for it – expect it. Also plan for what you’re going to do next.”
