This is Alpha Gassama, who spoke to 98FM's Dublin Talks today (Fri 26/06/20125).

This man, from Guinea, has been an asylum seeker in Ireland since 2004.  Because he's not allowed work he decided to volunteer to help clean up his local community, Clondalkin. He was a founding member of Clondalkin Tidy Towns.

Last weekend, while picking up litter in the village he was verbally abused by local thugs who called him a N***er and then chased him.  When they caught him they beat the shit out of him with a stick.

On 98FM's Dublin Talks this morning Adrian Kennedy, saying he was sometimes ashamed to be Irish, apologised to him on behalf of the people of Ireland, Dublin & Clondalkin.
