For the last few weeks, Dublin seagulls having been getting a very bad rap in the news and have even found themselves a hot topic for our local politicians in the Dáil!
With one Dublin senator asking for lasers to be purchased in a bid to stop the pesky birds from terrorising unsuspecting people.
But are they really that bad? Cooper and Luke from 98FM's Big Breakfast have been conducting their own series of 'Seagull Experiements' to see exactly how agressive these sea birds are.
First up in our experiment, we paid a visit to Ballbriggan in North County Dublin, where the Seagulls have a particularly bad name.

Results:
No attacks or food theft by the seagulls, however Luke was a victim of a fly-by poo.
The seagulls kept their distance for the most part.
So the Seagulls in Balbriggan were very well behaved , but maybe we just caught them on a good day?
After a tip off from some Big Breakfast listeners, our next experiment brought us to nearby Grand Canal Square in Dublin city. We were told the Square is home to some of the city's most notorious seagulls.
Results:
Even though the Seagulls have grown to the size of small dogs and would be perfectly equipped to take on Cooper or Luke (or both), the birds preferred to keep their distance and just swoop in circles overhead.
Also, neither Cooper or Luke were the target of any seagull poop.
However we did hear from a listener today, who claims to have been attacked by a seagull on Grafton Street. Take a listen below:
