Former Irish tennis pro Owen Casey says Maria Sharapova should be given a “lengthy ban” for cheating.

The women's world number 7 admitted on Monday that she had failed a drugs test at the Australian Open earlier this year.

She had been taking the drug meldonium for 10 years, for what she said was health issues.

The drug was added to the World Anti Doping agency banned list from the 1st of January this year as it enhances mental ability, performance and recovery.

Sharapova failed to read the email informing her that the drug was banned and Casey says she'll face a big ban
