This morning on The Ray Foley Show, we spoke to Bernadette Dornan from Whitehall.

Bernadette is mum to 10 year old, Robyn Smyth.

Like any other 10 year old girl, Robyn loves to play outside, bake, play Minecraft and spend time with friends and family.

At the age of three, Robyn was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare childhood cancer.

Tumours were initially found in her chest and head and tests showed that the cancer had already spread quickly throughout most of Robyn's little body. She had a very small chance of survival.

Fortunately after months of aggressive treatment Robyn entered remission.

Again in 2013 Robyns family’s lives were turned upside down when they discovered that the neuroblastoma had returned.

To date Robyn has received all the treatment Ireland has to offer.

In order to have the best chance of survival she will have to travel to America to receive ground breaking treatment. She needs to partake in Clinical Trials which might save her life.

They have raised over €250,000 so far but still have a long way to go.
