98FM's weekly sports show "Now That's What I Call Sport" airs every Sunday morning from 9-10am.
Presented by myself Johnny Lyons, this week's show broadcast on Sunday September 28th features the following items :
- Rob Henderson
He's a gas man is our Rob!
And quite literally too !
Our world champion in the 50k walk likes to inhale umpteen litres of oxygen - especially on the eve of major championships !
Just like back in 2013 when he made his own oxygen tent at home with his wife and coach.
The approach worked wonders for him as he went on to take gold at the Worlds in Moscow.
Intoxicating stuff!
Oxygen tents were out of fashion by the time of this year's Euros in Zurich but there was an unforgettable and controversial ending to his race when he walked off - literally - well before the end on the realisation he wasn't going to win - a broken man physically and mentally !
Oh and how they forget about you soon enough - his sponsored car was taken back from him today !
But moving forward he knows he's gotta stop worrying about lifting the nation and concentrate on Rob the racer !
- former Dubs boss Humphrey Kelleher looks back on the All Ireland Hurling final replay between Kilkenny and Tipp
- we have the latest from the Ryder Cup live from our Golf Correspondent Denis Kirwan at Gleneagles
- we talk to Dublin's Leah Caffrey and her All Ireland winning dad John ahead of the Ladies Football Final against Cork at Croker on Sunday
Competitions:
1. Be a VIP at the official opening of the new Liverpool FC Store in the ILAC Centre next Friday with exclusive meet & greet with Reds legend Didi Hamann & signed jersey and football
2. Tix for Croker to see the Dubs Ladies in action plus a Jackies jersey
Thanks,
Johnny.
