Ireland international defender Darren O’Dea feels the boys in green should be using the friendly games against Switzerland and Slovakia to have a look at a possible starting team and tactics for Euro 2016, and that Martin O’Neill should not be trying out new players who may not make the squad for France.

Eunan O'Kane, Johnny Hayes and Alan Judge all made their Ireland debuts in the 1-0 win over the Swiss on Friday night, while Matt Doherty was on the bench and could play on Tuesday.

O'Dea was part of Giovanni Trapattoni's Euro 2012 squad and was a guest on Now That's What I Call Sport this morning.

He spoke to Jamie Moore on how Martin O'Neill used the Switzerland game.

Shane Long won International Goal Of The Year for 2015 for his cracker against Germany which came from a long ball by goalkeeper Darren Randolph.

The Dundee man thinks Ireland should stick to the long ball approach that served them well in qualifying when the tournament kicks off this summer.
