This morning on Dublin Talks we discussed discrimination gay couples in Ireland face when getting married from some hotel workers and different types of vendors.
We received an email from a Muslim man who works in a hotel and said he doesn't want to work on an upcoming gay wedding because of his "beliefs". We asked if someone like this should HAVE TO work despite their beliefs or if they should be given a choice?
We spoke to Marian Purcell from 'Gay Weddings Ireland' who told us how widespread this is and what kind of difficulties gay couples face when it comes to planning their big day.
Marian told us that she worked with a gay couple who "had never witnessed any form of homophobia or discrimination until they started planning their wedding".
A caller named Tom also rang in to tell us how he feels about it and how he has NO acceptance for gay people.
Adrian became annoyed with Tom and told him he is a "hate filled bigot and homophobe" after Tom upset and annoyed A LOT of you with his "old fashioned views"...
