This morning on Dublin Talks we had a discussion about parents allowing their children to go to sleepovers. We decided to talk about this following a story in the news at the weekend about a child who was abused while staying over at their friends house for a sleepover. We asked if you believe that parents who let their kids go to sleepover are irresponsible?
We spoke to a mother of 3 children who says "my children will NEVER be allowed to go to sleepovers. They are my kids, I will never take that risk". We then heard from a man who believes that sleepovers are all a part of growing up and that parents nowadays are way too overprotective and "wrap their kids in cotton wool". Another lady also rang in to say that she allows her children to go to sleepovers and that they love them so why not?
