Brandon Miele is getting ready to face Bohemians in the Dublin derby on Friday night.

The Shamrock Rovers midfielder has been is flying form this season and hopes to continue that at the home of their biggest rivals.

But things were not always good for Miele, who was released from Newcastle at the age of 19 having moved there from Cherry Orchard as a 16 year old.

Miele spoke to Jamie Moore on 98FM's League of Ireland Podcast this week, and told him how close he came to quitting the game altogether.

Things are on the up now, with some fantastic performances over the last 18 months which has Miele firming in the sights of English scouts.

He says if he opportunity to follow the likes of Richie Towell and Chris Forrester to England, he would "100% take it."
