Paul Corry is hopeful he can mark a return to the Irish domestic football scene with a February debut for new club Shamrock Rovers.
The midfielder has been out of action for the past fourteen months, after suffering a near-career threatening ACL injury while playing for Northampton Town.
Corry gave a frightening account of the experience ”I heard two big pops in my knee, fell to the ground roaring in agony and I guess it was nearly like contractions the pain was coming and going every two three seconds”.

On the challenging recovery process Corry said: “Only I had oxygen to numb the pain, I probably would’ve passed out.”
However, after several months of intense physiotherapy Corry feels he is primed to make an impact with Rovers in the coming year’s campaign.
“I’m fully confident that the work I’ve put in and the hours, the days and the weeks I’ve put in to my rehabilitation that my knee is 100% and ready to go for February.”
