When it comes to anthems, I think Ireland is good but not great. Amhran Na bhFiann and Ireland's Call have a certain dirge like quality that would definitely get you singing but dancing, not a hope. We leave that up to the French - La Marseillaise or the Senegalese national anthem. They are TUNNNNNNES but I may have been missing a trick. Luke Brown in The Telegraph certainly seems to think so. The journalist has been musing on who the English should support now they're out of the world cup and this is what he had to say about why they should be supporting us:
Our rugby anthem is a club banger? Ahh come on now, it's definitely not that.... or at least it wasn't until Ray Foley got his musical mitts on it.
Check it out, the anthem that will have you dancing to the lights at 3am in any club in the world.
