It’s been a roller coaster few months for Daryl Horgan.

The 24 year old was the star of the show as Dundalk won their third SSE Airtricity League Premier Division title and qualified for the group stages of the Europa League last season.

The former Cork City player signed for Preston North End in January and has been a regular in their team as they make a late push for the Championship play-offs.

Horgan made his Republic of Ireland senior debut against Iceland on Tuesday night to make his dream few months even better.

He spoke exclusively to Jamie Moore on Now That’s What I Call Sport this morning and admitted he thought his “chance was gone” to play for Ireland at senior level.

He plans to help fire Preston to the Premier League and make himself a regular in Martin O’Neill’s team.
