This morning on Dublin Talks we discussed the upcoming price hike on alcohol (starting in January) and asked you how you feel about it.
We carried out a text poll on air and asked you to text in either "YES" or "NO" depending on whether you agree with the price hike or not. 90.1% of people texted in to say they DO NOT agree with it and 9.9% said they DO agree.
We heard from callers with very divided opinions.
We spoke to a man who believes it is a great idea because he says "I am sick of seeing people on the dole with their cans, this might motivate them to get up and work". Another caller then rang in to challenge his views saying "it is unfair to punish everyone because of a few irresponsible drinkers".
