“That pitch was a disgrace, it was unplayable, I’d rather play on a concrete car park”

That was the view of UCD manager Collie O’Neill about Cabinteely’s pitch in Stradbook after their 0-0 draw in the SSE Airtrcity League First Division on Saturday night.

Cabo manager Eddie Gormley told O’Neill to stop moaning and said “a workman never blames his tools.”

Here’s a preview of the manager’s differing views on the pitch.

Listen to their full interviews, and very different views, with 98FM’s Jamie Moore by clicking play on the link below. They were on Now That's What I Call Sport on Sunday morning.

Cabo usually play on Friday night’s but the game was moved to Saturday, as there was a rugby match on the pitch at 2.30pm yesterday.

It’s very uncommon, possibly unheard of, for a competitive League of Ireland game to take place on the same pitch as a rugby match just hours later.

We'll have more re-action to the game on 98FM's League of Ireland Podcast on 98FM.COM this Wednesday.
