New Shamrock Rovers Club Captain Ronan Finn says it was the right decision to leave Champions Dundalk to return to Tallaght.

The 29 year old signed a 3 year contract with the Hoops today, but says he is leaving ex Manager Stephen Kenny and Dundalk on good terms.

It's a move that surprised many people when it was leaked on twitter last night.

The midfielder has been telling 98FM Sport's Jamie Moore about why he's decided to move.

Finn won two league titles in a row with the Co Louth club, and starred in their run to the Europa League group stages this season, he says despite their attempts to keep him at Oriel Park, a move back to a "special" Shamrock Rovers to compete for trophies was the right fit.

Head Coach Stephen Bradley explained the process behind the signing and what 'Finner' will bring to the club.
