Former Irish International Shane Byrne believes Dylan Hartley deserves “Everything he gets” for his swinging arm challenge on Sean O’Brien.
The England Captain was red-carded for the challenge only six minutes after coming on to the pitch as a substitute in Northampton’s 37-10 loss to Leinster on Friday night.
A 10 week ban could be on the cards for the hooker, which would put his involvement in the opening stages of the Six Nations in doubt, as well as the remainder of Northampton’s Champions Cup pool games. He will discover his fate this week.
Byrne criticised The England Captain’s hot head, “A man in his position, captaining supposedly the best side in the Northern Hemisphere, according to themselves, at the moment. For him to do that is absolutely barmy!”
