Ireland international and West Brom defender Dara O'Shea joined The Football Show to discuss Evan Ferguson and his season so far.

The Dubliner has played all 28 games for West Brom so far this season in the Championship. It's the highest number of appearances he's made in a single season of his professional career.

O'Shea is in excellent form but West Brom are languishing in 10th position in the table. But they are only two points off the playoff places so there's hope that they can return to the Premier League. They must put together a string of positive results.

The 23-year-old credits his consistency down to being in a good place mentally.

"I feel great personally," O'Shea said.

"I'm at a great level physically with my fitness and my physicality. I feel really comfortable and obviously, the games are coming quick and fast and I've found a routine that works for me during this busy period.''

While O'Shea is thriving in the Championship, teammate Evan Ferguson is thriving in the Premier League. Like the rest of us, O'Shea is marveling at what Ferguson is achieving but he's not surprised by it either.

"Evan's been unbelievable. Even the time he came in with us in the last camp you could tell already that there was something there.

"And obviously, he's proven that as of late in the Premier League.

''He's the type of kid that you know what sort of head he's got. You don't even have to speak to him you just know he carries himself around the place. He's got a good head on his shoulders and I'll definitely be offering him some advice.''

Murphy asked O'Shea if he's excited about the potential of his Ferguson playing for Ireland.

''When you see players like that come through it's amazing. At the end of the day, I'm a fan of Ireland more than anything. There's a lot of other younger players coming through who are making big impacts which will be massive for us.''

Will Pep Guardiola regret loaning out Joao Cancelo?
