An entertainer accused of sexually assaulting a young man in Dublin three years ago has indicated he'll plead not guilty.

A judge has yet to decide it to lift an order which is banning the media from naming the accused man.

The man first came before Judge John O’Leary at Dublin District Court in August.

When the case returned before a different judge today, the man’s solicitor indicated his intention to plead not guilty.

During his first court appearance, Judge O’Leary put an order in place preventing the identification of the accused.

That was challenged by a number of media outlets today.

Judge John Hughes was told he’s not entitled to anonymity but concerns were raised by Gardaí and his solicitor in relation to the publication of certain details about the allegation.

To do so, it was argued, could lead someone to figure out who the complainant is, and his identity is protected by the law.

As a result, Judge Hughes deferred his decision on whether to lift the court order until the alleged victim is consulted.

The case will come back before him on Nov 27th.
